Audience(s)
Almost all successful web marketing targets (a) niche audience(s). The raw data for targeting people within your niche are primarily search queries (Google) and demographics and job functions (social networks).
Each can be classified by geographic location.
On the internet, mass marketing of a general nature is not a viable plan.
Principles
- Don't guess who your audience might be. Do research.
- Figure out who they are, where they are and what they want.
- Create content with the ultimate aim of getting action(s).
- "Action" can be direct (buy) or indirect (start a conversation).
- Address only your target audience and not everyone.
- Plan to be a specialist and an authority in your niche.
- This applies equally to widgets, complex services or changing minds.
